place to stay in Stratford upon Avon 

Avon Park is a beautifully landscaped private site with the River Avon flowing through its centre.

With a bar, restaurant, picnic tables and chilidren's playground on site and Tiddington village a ten minute walk away

you can forget the car and have all you need on hand.

Stratford upon Avon town centre is easily reached by bus or taxi and is a pleasant 20 minute stroll from Daisy Lodge.  

 

Our holiday cottage in Stratford upon Avon is a secret getaway in the UK and is an ideal base for your self catering holiday - discover the world famous Royal Shakespeare Company’s Theatre, William Shakespeare’s birthplace, have a flutter at the Stratford upon Avon Racecourse and for spectacular views travel on the Stratford upon Avon “Eye” or take a tour of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre tower.

Stratford upon Avon is a market town with over 800 years of history which boasts wonderful shops,

restaurants, cafés (plenty of which are pet friendly) and entertainment.

William Shakespeare, Stratford upon Avon’s most famous son, was born and died in the town and his grave

can be visited in the town’s 800 year old Holy Trinity Church on the banks of the river.

You can see the house where he was born and the house that he bought after becoming a successful playwright.

Further afield from Stratford upon Avon here are some of the best things to do - take a day trip to the Cotswolds,

Oxford, Warwick Castle, Charlecote Park and Baddesley Clinton, now a National Trust property,

with its priest holes and connections to the English Gunpowder Plot.

After a day exploring Stratford upon Avon, relax in Daisy Lodge on the South facing terrace or dine in the

on-site Riverside bar and restaurant which also has picnic tables beside the river. There's no need to worry about where to eat in Stratford upon Avon as the town has a wide selection of restaurants and pubs.

 Stroll along the river to see swans and ducks and watch for the blue flash of a kingfisher or stand on the

Millennium Bridge and watch the local rowers skull down the River Avon. Daisy Lodge is great for

adults and families and is pet friendly for that special self-catering time away. 

Fishermen love the fishing at Daisy Lodge and it is free to those with a personal fishing licence, making it the perfect destination for romantic fishing breaks

Pike, zander, bream, roach, dace, chub are all to be found in the River Avon.
