Stratford upon Avon is a market town with over 800 years of history which boasts wonderful shops,

restaurants, cafés (plenty of which are pet friendly) and entertainment.

William Shakespeare, Stratford upon Avon’s most famous son, , was born and died in the town and his grave

can be visited in the town’s 800 year old Holy Trinity Church on the banks of the river.

You can see the house where he was born and the house that he bought after becoming a successful playwright.

Visiting inside some of these houses is restricted during 2020 but you can check what is open on our Things To Do page.

Further afield from Stratford upon Avon here are some of the best things to do - take a day trip to the Cotswolds,

Oxford, Warwick Castle, Charlecote Park and Baddesley Clinton, now a National Trust property,

with its priest holes and connections to the English Gunpowder Plot.

After a day exploring Stratford upon Avon, relax in Daisy Lodge on the South facing terrace or dine in the

Stroll along the river to see swans and ducks and watch for the blue flash of a kingfisher or stand on the

Millennium Bridge and watch the local rowers skull down the River Avon. Daisy Lodge is great for

adults and families and is pet friendly for that special self-catering time away.

Fishermen love the fishing at Daisy Lodge and it is free to those with a personal fishing licence.
