Not just Shakespeare!

We are always seeking out new attractions for you to enjoy during your stay at Daisy Lodge in Stratford upon Avon. Famous as the birthplace of William Shakespeare, of course, but there is so much more to discover. Read on to explore the fantastic array of entertainment available just 1 mile from Daisy Lodge.


Visit The Music Cafe - A fabulous concept - open in the day and evenings serving great homemade food accompanied by free entertainment every night 7.30 to 9.30pm A mix of jazz, classical, folk, talks, movies and original plays.




If theatre is your thing there is, of course, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre but why not try one of the smaller local theatres in the town. The Bear Pit Theatre and The Attic Theatre stage regular productions and have some great performances on the way.


One of the most stunning art galleries outside London is to be found at Compton Verney, a short drive from Stratford. An 18th century country manor house, Compton Verney was bought by Sir Peter Moores in1993 and gifted it to the specially-created charitable trust Compton Verney House Trust (CVHT).

Following a £45 million building project to restore the Grade-I listed Georgian mansion there are now six permanent galleries, two changing exhibitions, glorious Capability Brown landscaped grounds, walks and an excellent restaurant, Compton Verney is a special place to visit when you enjoy a break in Stratford upon Avon.

From Srictly Come Dancing professional shows to stand-up comedians and live jazz, the Stratford Playhouse has something for everyone to enjoy.

Throughout the year there are great things to do when you visit Daisy Lodge in Stratford upon Avon. You can visit the Stratford Literary Festival in May; the Stratford River Festival in early July- For two whole days every summer the riverside comes alive with free events and activities.

Not forgetting the Stratford Music Festival in November, there is always something amazing to enjoy.


Stratford upon Avon is so welcoming to visitors and many restaurants and cafes are geared up ready to offer early evening "theatre suppers" so that you can dine early and get to your chosen venue for an evening's entertainment.
